Auto Glass Repair
Got chips in your windshield? Instead of having it replaced, you may be
able to have it repaired. It is a good option to look into. It is much
cheaper than replacement and much quicker and easier.
Glass Chip Repair Process
The first step that your auto glass repair technician will do is clean
the chip. They will clean any loose glass from the chip. Next they may
need to drill the center of the chip to allow them to inject a rsin into
it. Next they will inject a resin into the glass chip and allow it to
cure. Finally they will apply some resin to the exterior of the chip to
protect it and polish the glass to leave a smooth surface.
Glass Crack Repair Process
Crack repair is a similar process but the success rate will vary. If
you have a glass crack that branches out in several directions, you
probably will not be able to repair it. If the crack is very old, more
than several months, you may not be able to repair it. If it is a single
crack however, less than 2 feet long and less than a few months old,
then the crack might be able to be repaired. |
